Words and Sketchup (week 1)

The two words i chose for my two clients (CJ Hendry top/Revival Cycles bottom) are "Worship" and "Parts".
The top half is based loosely around a church; a cross can be seen from the top, defined by the space between the four workshop/office rooms. Unlike a church however, the space within the top half of the building is very limited, despite the large open area of space contained within. These factors all serve to emphasise the few solid objects present in the building; the pedestals (not in this version yet) displaying CJ Hendry's work.

The bottom half was initially intended to consist of moving rooms and areas, as to be consistent with the idea of moving "parts". However, i have determined it to be far too hard to model properly. Instead, the concept of "parts" is displayed by the interlocking of platforms by the stairs. The resulting construct, when viewed from a top perspective (rendered visible to people due to the glass floor of the top section) results in a dynamic shape reminiscent of the gears of a machine. The area is circular to emphasise this effect, as the constantly shifting perspectives offered by circular movement only act to embellish the structure.
